Whats the best High performance or stock engine can i put in my chevy cavalier 2000?

I Have a 2000 chevy cavalier and i want to make it to high performance for racing. i want to know whats the best engine i can swap with..

If you have a 4cylinder, you could just put in the V6 engine from a Cavalier of the same year. Or maybe a 3.4 GM V6 would work.

You may have alot of issues with this as the whole drive train may need to be changed.
You may be better getting a different car.
