Snoring is not a joke, and it's not just a nuisance. And surgery has a rather poor success rate.
Snoring is often a symptom of a serious disorder called sleep apnea. This can damage your heart and even kill you. You need to go to a sleep clinic without delay - ask your doctor to refer you.
In most cases apnea can be 100% eliminated by the use of a night breathing machine called a CPAP. It might take a night or two to get used to it, but then you will not only not snore AT ALL anymore, you will feel much better during the day, too.
Please do not delay in seeing a sleep specialist - it's very important! Contrary to what many people believe, you do NOT have to be overweight to have sleep apnea.

As you've asked this question in the "Other Computers" section I'm going to take a guess that you fall asleep in front of the pc...?
That being the case - switch it on - there's all kinds of great things there to keep you awake!
Otherwise, if you snore badly - just get your missus to wallop you - works for me! Oh yeah, I hear drinking more water is good too.

Ask your partner to whistle when u snore, this breaks the subconscious. It doesn't last all night but it works for a bit then he/she will have to whistle again. Avoid having the op, a friend of mine said her taste and smell was lost and still is. Is it really worth having an op with everything that entails nowdays for the sake of snoring. If yr partner doesn't like it get him some ear plugs!.....good luck

i have a relative that snores when he sleeps so he went to a sleep therapist place, he had to wait a few months but when they tested him they found he stopped breathing when he slept which cuased the snoring, id ask your doctor for urther advice and any alternatives...my relative has now been given a face mask and a machine next to him, it grips his nose and stops the snorig and restores his sleeping patterns.
hope that helps...

i dunno about the snoring but to unblock your nose i have a couple of methods....
Put a few drops of olbas oil onto a tissue and breathe it in... it is quite strong but if that doesnt help...
put boiling water plus a few drops of olbas oil in a bowl and put a towel over your head. Breathe this in for a few minutes before sleeping. Its like a sauna and effectively reduces a blocked nose well for me it does as i suffer from severe allergies and hayfever.

Apparently the latest way is to take singing lessons (not joking!). So I assume having a good old sing song during the day might just do the trick, try it out.

have you tried hypnosis? it might work. Also having a warm drink before bed helps. Avoid smoking or drinking alcohol as this will make it worse.
