The clocks go back an hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday October 29, 2006.
It depends on where you are, however. It's 2 a.m. Sunday in the US (except Hawaii, Puerto Rico and most of Arizona), in Canada (except for Saskatchewan), and in Europe (but not Iceland). Parts of the Middle East end daylight time on a different date.
In the Southern Hemisphere the clocks go forward. In Australia, the states of New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria go ahead an hour Sunday. Tasmania has already sprung forward earlier this month, as has New Zealand. The southern states of Brazil go ahead on a different date, Sunday November 5th.
By the way, when Daylight Time starts again in the Northern hemisphere, in the spring, it will begin on March 11th in the US, but not until March 25th in Europe. It's going to end the first Sunday of November, 2007 in the US, but unless Europe changes the rules, Europe will go back a week before us in autumn 2007.
Does anyone know whether Canada will follow the American Plan or the European Plan?

DST will end Sunday, Oct 29 at 2 am for East Coast US.
For other locations around the World go to:

There is and old expression of Fall: back; Spring forward.
This means on Oct 29th you would set your clock back by one hour, say from 8am to 7am. This means you will actually be getting up an hour later than before. It means going to school or work with the sun higher and so better visibility. But you pay the price of coming home probably after sunset.

The time changes on Saturday night at 2:00 am. We gain an hour then because we set the clocks back. (Remember "Spring forward, fall back") What I'm wondering is, since we set the clocks back at 2am does that mean we get an extra hour to drink?

October 29th, and the good way to know, is fall back, spring foreward, so we lose an hour for the "Fall Back".
