well it depends really because results are varied through. i would buy a 7900GTX now and then buy another when the prices have decreased, make sure your motherboard is SLI compatible. If you haven't yet bought your motherboard then buy a Crossfire one from ATI (now AMD) and get a X1950XTX and then latter buy another to put then in Crossfire mode. HOWEVER if you can wait then in November/December time Nvidia is about to release brand new graphics cards. this will be the 8 series, according to rumors they are much more powerful than the 7 series (7600/7900 ETC). if you must buy these now then look at this website for comparisons. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/graphics/charts.html

of course the GeForce 7950GX2 1GB PCI-Express Video Card is better than 2x GeForce 7950GT 512MB PCIE SLI Mode
needless to say it has a power consume much lower

the $329 is better

1gb memory compared to the 512
