look at http://www.trustedreviews.com/articles.aspx?sec=13 I'm not sure if your from the UK but the reviews should still apply for laptops around the world. also Don't buy Dell, if you do you will regret it in the future as they don't treat customers with respect and use cheap components to make their machines and they over charge people for replacing components. also try looking at http://www.whatlaptop.co.uk/
Once you get your laptop look at http://tomshardware.co.uk/mobilityguru/index.html for general info on how to keep your laptop preforming at optimal speed, thees also an article about increasing the performance of your laptop, which is very helpful.
