Christmas is my favorite time of the year... I myself can hardly wait... My tree will be up before Thanksgiving ... so my answer is that I love it and it is good.

1) People love Christmas. They look forward to it and get excited about it...

2) Retail stores want to be ahead of the game, so they start bringing out holiday items early, which (in turn), gets people more excited...

3) People (like another user said) like to budget. I always buy my gifts 2-3 months early so I get the gifts I want and I don't feel rushed. I also can spread out the purchases so it is not a $500 bill in December.

4) A lot of people think Thanksgiving is a 'boring' holiday, being that it is not the most festive of holidays. So they tend to skip right over it!

It's called getting prepared, some people need more time then others. Also some people actually like Christmas and are excited about it. If you have a great vacation that is 2 months away but you are excited about it wouldn't you be talking??

I know, I know. Chrismas is getting out of hand. But, if one has a large family to buy gifts for, it doesn't hurt to start shopping early. And it's so hard to think of original and useful gifts anymore. I'm getting tired of it too and much as I hate to do it, I might have to suggest drawing names or something. When Christmas becomes too stressful, it's time for a change.

I say its nothing new. It just seems to get earlier and earlier each year.I think adverts on T.V. are to blame though. It does make it more exciting but I think its unfair on those who dont have a lot of money to spend on their kids.Talking about Christmas is great fun, but not if your short of cash.

Talking about it is not the problem. I think that starting the marketing campaigns is sickening. the meaning of the holiday has changed from religious observance to spending money.

Some of us like to plan ahead instead of waiting until Christams Eve :) It's easier on the budget and the stress level.
