IMO, there is no difference. It all depends on what significance the individual puts on it. What each term means will vary from person to person but, hopefully, that will be why you asked the question in the first place! Generally, however, I'd say...

Making love: seems to hold connotations of romance and tenderness (albeit potentially clichéd and restrictive ones that require "love", as defined by the person using the term, to be involved). Personally, I would argue that it's impossible for a sex act to unquestionably be *making* (i.e creating?) "love" in the literal sense. This means that, IMO, the term actually only relates to a style or set of recognisable codes that are potentially indicative of "love" as we commonly know it.

Having sex: acts as a catch-all and is a little more flexible (though, unfortunately, I think some people do still label most kinds of sex as "foreplay" and only v*ginal penetration as real "sex").

"Full On" F**king: again, varies from person to person but I'd say the word "f*ck" is sometimes used to denote a more raw animalistic act. I'd argue this is because it still has a certain amount of power as a swear word.

Your addition of "full-on" adds a further detail and implies that the sex in this case would perhaps be unrestrained and spontaneous and at the top of some imposed scale of significance. I would say this scenario necessitates a fairly concrete definition of what constitutes "full-on" f*cking and that this arguably doesn't allow for much variation or interruption of flow. It implies that the act considered to be "full-on" is somehow inevitable in this more raw context.

Interestingly, none of the terms above seem to descriptively account for friendly casual sex between people who aren't in love but nonetheless aren't just out to selfishly get what they can without a thought for the other person's pleasure or consent. Perhaps the more neutral "having sex" is the best default for sex that doesn't seem to fit the more loaded descriptions of "making love" or "full-on f**king"?

PS: I liked the answer from Julie Knows (i.e f*cking could be associated with meaningful love).

It is possible to f*ck someone you love and I also think some people can "make love" to someone who they don't actually love if they set out to fulfil a specific fantasy for them in a caring and thoughtful way (i.e in the style of "making love").

making love you will know right away. it feels different, and you can tell how much that person cares about you. it's just being close and maybe even holding hands, and being gentle like you are a porcelin doll about to break.
having sex is okay, you want it and i'm not in the mood, but do what you gotta do to get to sleep and leave me alone. lol
f*&^ing is hard core, let me do anything i want and you can do anything you want, let's make this house rock! (it's still better when teh person cares about you, but they pretend they don't for a bit and try to break that doll!)

People usaully percieve making love as Sex with the emotional connection and with the person that you love. whereas the other two are just random pleasurable (or not) events.

Sometimes having sex is not involved in love. Love doesn't mean having sex. But making love, having sex, and full on fu**ing share the same meaning.

Making love involves the intense connection whilst having intercourse between two people who love each other. Having sex is when two people have intercourse with each other for self gratification. Full on *******?? That's just two horny people gettin' it on!
