I am ashamed to have him as a representative of our country. Come on we are talking about the most respected position in the free world. The president should be the best or at least be able to complete two sentences without a long pause. From all the speeches I have viewed, he seems to have no idea WTF is going on.

Bush looks like a robot and speaks with the perfect cadence like voice. I cannot stand when he reads off the tele-prompter and it's so noticeable that you can actually see his eyes move from side to side. I agree he is the worst public speaker in presidential history.

Actually, I agree that GWB is a horrible orator, but that should not be the reason for dismissing him as an excellent president. Clinton was an excellent speaker but his morals were an embarrassment. A womanizer, liar, and perhaps a rapist representing our country is far worse than being a slick speaker.

Edit: I saw Bernice's comments and have to second her statement. I have heard his off-the-cuff comments and he is quite good...not slick...just down to earth. He just seems to lock up when he is in more formal forums and has to work with a prepared speech which may not be written the way he would normally say something on his own..

The President is a good speaker. I went to a rally in our town before his last election. HE did not halter or pause at anytime.
Speaking off the cuff he is charming and much different than in
front of cameras. Don't forget every word he speaks at press conference is going to be picked apart and he knows this. He is the
butt of many jokes but remember he is President respect the
office if not the man.

I don't know if it's you - because I don't know what kind of a public speaker you are; but I do know that George W. Bush is the most inarticulate, stumble-bum speaker ever to be shoved in front of a microphone.
He's a moron. He's ruined America's reputation as a world leader and global peacekeeper, and he's responsible for the deaths of 655,000 Iraqis and 3,000 U.S. soldiers (not to mention the thousands who have been injured, disabled, or maimed all in the name of Bush's 'war' folly).
Bush doesn't have a CLUE what's going on. He's an idiot. He deserves to be tried in an international tribunal for high crimes against humanity, and - if convicted - should face a public firing squad. Impeachment is far too good for this bastard! -RKO-

One reason for the poor speech of George W. Bush is the mental illnesses from which President Bush suffers. The most concise and frank, yet compassionate account of George W. Bush's multiple mental disorders can be found in the 2004 book-length study by Dr. Justin Frank, Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President (New York: HarperCollins, 2004). Dr. Frank is a leading psychoanalyst who teaches at George Washington University Medical Center. His professional credentials are impressive, and his in-depth study of the President, based on massive amounts of public documentation—autobiographical and biographical accounts, countless hours of video footage of the President, statements by close associates and relatives, spanning nearly the entirety of George W. Bush's lifetime—presents a compelling case that Mr. Bush is in need of medical assistance.

As Dr. Frank summarized the case in his opening chapter, "If one of my patients frequently said one thing and did another, I would want to know why. If I found that he often used words that hid their true meaning and affected a persona that obscured the nature of his actions, I would grow more concerned. If he presented an inflexible worldview characterized by an oversimplified distinction between right and wrong, good and evil, allies and enemies, I would question his ability to grasp reality. And if his actions revealed an unacknowledged—even sadistic—indifference to human suffering, wrapped in pious claims of compassion, I would worry about the safety of the people whose lives he touched. For his entire presidency, I have observed with increasing alarm the inconsistencies and denials of such an individual. But he is not one of my patients. He is our President."

In his 219-page clinical diagnosis of the President's mental condition, Dr. Frank concluded that Mr. Bush suffers from a range of serious, albeit curable conditions. These include: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); untreated and uncured alcoholism (what is frequently referred to in lay terms as "dry drunk"); an omnipotence complex; paranoia; an Oedipal Complex; sadism; a mild form of Tourette's Syndrome; and a diminished capacity to distinguish between reality and fantasy.

These diagnosed mental disorders cannot be swept under the rug. People have the right to know that the President is plagued by a number of debilitating mental disorders that have impacted, gravely, on American national security, and have severely damaged some of our most important international partnerships.

In their wisdom, the Members of the U.S. Congress proposed and ratified the Twenty-Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which established the procedures for the President to be removed from office if it is determined that "he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office." It would be a grave crime of omission to cover over this admittedly sensitive Constitutional issue, and leave the matter in the hands of Vice President Dick Cheney, were there to be an inevitable mental breakdown crisis. Therefore a dual impeachment should be the first order of business of the incoming democratically controlled House and Senate. This should be followed in short order by the hospitalization of ex-President Bush and the trial and imprisonment of Dick Cheney and Bush's other subordinates for crimes against humanity including the more than 500,000 civilians slaughtered by the US during the bombing and subsequent invasion of Iraq.

The being you see is either a genetically engineered being or a doppelganger of George W. Bush. Lynnguy, you're right. Sorry, Bernice. And Tower, are you forgetting that innocent lives are being unnecessarily sacrificed in Iraq in a war all based on lies upon lies? Check-out:

He is a terrible speaker. Of course the brain runs the mouth, and well, we know what kind of engine he's got under the hood. Let's just laugh/cry at the same time, and count the days.

So you'd rather have a smooth talker like Bill Clinton who lies to the american people, defames and disgraces the country with his sexual antics, and proves to be weak on foreign issues?
Good lord, get a clue.
At least dislike Bush for real reasons -- it's moron liberals like you who distort what SHOULD be a constructive political landscape.

Who are you to judge? Speech giving is not the most important function he does. God bless President Bush.

I think he hands his speech writers a list of made up words and makes them work them into his speeches.
