There is an awkward noise that occurs intermittently from within my computer's tower. It sounds somewhat like a gurggling noise. Well, a better comparison may be the noise the old-school remote control racecars made...you know, the reving noise those 1980s remote control cars made. That's the best way I can describe it.
I know it's not coming from my fans...but I'm not sure where to start looking. Could it be from one of the electrical components within the tower? How can this be remedied? Spraying the inside of my tower with a can of pressurized air? Should I take this in to a place that offers computer repair/diagnostic services?
Any ideas and recommendations will be appreciated.

There are many fans in your computer, not just the one in the power supply. It's probably a fan -- one of the very few moving parts of a computer.

i would say kick it to make it work i wouldn't advise that. it may well be one of the fans in your machine. try using pressurized air like you suggested to blow away and dust build ups in there. he dust will warm up the computer and cause it to make the fans work overtime. if it isn't a fan then see if it is a CD/DVD drive, when the sound starts open the CD/DVD drive to see if the noise continues of stops. again if it isn't this try so listen if the noise is coming from the Hard Drive if it is then i would see professional advice as if you don't it could corrupt the data on your hard drive.

my brother had the same problem with his. it sat on the floor. it was the fan. it had collected so much dust it was causing the fan to slow and make this loud noise like it was going to blow up. you can slide open the side and get a vaccuum cleaner to clean it off. it helped his out a ton and now its quiet again. i hope that helps.

Your best bet is to get it checked I wouldnt do anything if you dont know exactly what the problem is.
