I hate the fact that as a country we are laughed at ridiculed and now disliked the world over because of our current dictator.....What happened to us?

Uh, there are polls done on this very question, all the time, which yield more accurate results than asking here.
I believe the fed up (among Americans, that is) is around 70% -- roughly.
He was increasingly unpopular until 9/11, when his approval ratings shot up to %90.
They've pretty much fallen ever since, with a few blips.
What happened is that, because the republicans controlling the election in Florida prevented a lot of democrats from voting, the election of 2000 was stolen.
Then the republicans who controlled the election in Ohio in 2004 stole it.
Getting rid of the electoral college, and ensuring that voters are allowed to vote and their votes counted accurately, and that computers are NOT allowed to vote, would help.

Bush is an idiot, and his handlers have made him a 'patsy' just like JFK's killers made Oswald a 'patsy'.
Bush has ruined America's reputation as a world leader and global peacekeeper. He has been responsible for the deaths of 655,000 Iraqis and almost 3,000 U.S. soldiers (not to mention the thousands more who have been maimed for life, disabled, or severely injured). All in the name of OIL profits.
What happened to us is that America is no longer a nation of the people, by the people and for the people. America is now a nation of the powerful, ruled by the nameless, faceless sub-humans who work behind-the-scenes, and all for the profits and greed of the American corporate community. -RKO-

americans are laughed at? I think the elections were won by Bush jr because of a freak of nature. Your president should have been Al Gore but some politicians decided not to help the blacks make their vote count in Florida. Thats how it went....
