Twenty-four people had crowded into the elevator on which Andrew Polakowski was killed.
The 2,500-pound weight capacity of the elevator was exceeded by as much as 1,100 pounds.
Is this the company's fault? No.
Is it Polakowski's fault? Partially, along with the other 23
Was this bad judgement? Yes
Did anyone deserve to die? Absolutely not
Are the parents only after money and publicity? If you think that, you obviously never lost anyone close to you suddenly and you have no idea what grief can do to a person especially to a parent. There is nothing in life as traumatic as losing a child.
I'm sure you have done something in your life that would be considered stupid and could have resulted in severe consequences, but were lucky enough not to be killed. I know I have.

Well it's a sue happy country we live in now. However, the media doesn't always give a complete story, perhaps the suit is for a safety feature to be installed in all elevators and the parents aren't gaining from it. Perhaps they are looking for someone to blame and they are looking for money, don't know yet just have to wait and see.
