Take your resume to an employment service and have them help you rewrite it. Tell them you are interested in full time work, and will accept a temp to perm, and relocation is OK these will increase their ability to place you. Also take a good look at your appearance - a well pressed and clean look can really make a difference.
As for the insurance contact your local HMO providers and find out how much insurance is for your wife and kids - HMO's usually have a no exclusion clause - also call social services or the united way and ask them if there are any Baby care services in your area as well as free clinics for immunizations and prescriptive care.
You can get through this-check with family see if the companies they work for are hiring, apply at hotels as a concierge, consider becoming a private aide and look at that opportunity. Also contact your Alma mater they may have alumni jobs available listings and of course I hope you registered at the unemployment office - many large companies are required to post listings there first and it is a good way to get a job if you work the program.
Good Luck!
PS-if it comes down to it consider living with a famliy member until you get back on your feet - I had a friend in a similar situation and they bought a Winebago and moved to to SC where there was work, that way they could rent in a trailer park for a small amount and save up for a home - BTW they bought a house 1 and 1/2 years after moving.

You reside within the Big Cali and can not uncover a role wow! I recognize its difficult however to be sincere Liberal Studies as a trainer in Cali yep that was once a useless finish. You must have picked a profession that focus on technological know-how. I might relocate considering that Im certain you are going to be ready to uncover a role together with your measure in a state rather then Cali. The factor is Cali is a situation for goals so that you went for a conventional measure you must keep up with the traits in a state like that. Its now not approximately having a conventional measure its approximately the long run like Communications/ Engineering remains to be well/ internet layout..... Don't quit but and I might take in a alternate earlier than due to the fact an additional measure.

Aside from calming down, examining closely afore advices (which are for the most part very good) and following suit, I might suggest you accept the fact that in life, we must do it the long way. Applying for jobs that don't interest us is, in some life situations, a necessity, so we can pack enough savings for a several-months-long serious job search (equating to career change), where you start by surveying local employment resources. Considering starting with being counscelled on the job search process would be a good idea in that case.
Remind yourself there is a lot to be gained in hardship, and like sunshine, it doesn't last forever, and won't totally go away.
Good luck!

I have a bachelors in business administration and I too had a really hard time finding a job after college. I looked up nursing home administrators online and it gave me some insight on what to do to get a job in this field. I then called several nursing homes to do my internship at (paid internship mind you). After 9 months of training and 1 test later - they offered me a full time job.

Try starting an entry level sales or service job. With your degree, working your way up should be possible.
Also, rather than temping, try a job placement service. They can probably give you some insight as to what's turning employers off to you.
Good Luck!

Do companies contact you to schedule an interview? If they don't, there is something not right about your resume. Have somebody look at it. If they do and you don't get an offer, either job wasn't right for you or there is too much competition. Have you tried banks? There are many entry level positions at banks. Also do not let your frustration and desperation show during interviews.

You can start by getting rid of that "SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME." Attitude you are exhibiting like a sore finger for everyone to bump up against.
I find that being a complete and total phony helps almost everyone make it in the business world. Try conformity on for size and don't be so much... yourself.
Stepford rules in the business world! Be the job, BE the company... BE them.
Not for me... Personally... Id rather be unemployed.
