I'd leave my job for the following reasons-
1. I am not meeting my career goals.
2. I am not making enough money working here.
3. I am tired of this line of work and I want to do something else.
4. I am starting my own business.
5. It costs me too much in money, time, and preparation to come to this job being that its very far away from where I live.

The best plan is to simply be honest with your employer. If you are unhappy with the company, personnel, duties, etc., just tell them. Unless you have a contract, you are not bound to this company for any reason and you dont' need to make excuses to get out of anything. Honesty is the best policy. This way you are not burning any bridges if you need to rely on your manager for a reference.

My last job, I told them that I didn't believe in the direction of the company any longer, and because of that, I was unable and unwilling to bring anyone else aboard.
Prior to that, I told them that I felt I had risen as high as they would permit, though I liked the company very much. They agreed. I'm glad I left, the department was folded two months later!

I told them I had a better opportunity elsewhere. Whatever you say, never burn your bridges and leave in a negative light.
