Watched it. I got the feeling Desmond rigged up the lightning rod so it wouldn't hit its original target of Aaron, the baby, and his mother. That is why in the beginning her tried to get them to move down shore a bit using the roof as an excuse. So when that didn't work he thought of this when he saw the man golfing. At least that was what I got out of it.

The rest of the show was rather interesting. They definately have a great hit on their hands.

Well, Desmond apparently can see the future now *if you saw last weeks show remember his conversation w/ Hurley.* He knew Claire and the baby were in danger from the roof collapsing and rigged the 5 iron lightning rod to prove to Charlie and her he knew what he was talking about

Desmond has developed the ability to see the future. He knew that lightening was going to strike the shelter where the baby was sleeping, and they wouldn't let him fix the shelter, so he rigged the lightening rod instead. My question is who was the person Desmond got the golf club from? Was he someone new? I agree the plot is rambling a bit. I'm getting tired of Sawyer and the girl (can't remember her name).

Because he knew the lightning was coming. My question is how did the 5 iron get from his fantasy to the Island? Now, I have no problem with weird - hell, I grew up living in a funeral home. But Lost is becoming the Twin Peaks of the new millenium: started out great, but going off in so many directions that now no one can follow it. And to TPTB at ABC: If we can't follow it, we won't watch.

once the hatch exploded, it seems desmond has developed the ability to see things in the near future. he knew that lightning was going to strike, so he put up the lightning rod to save claire & the baby. remember last week he was talking about locke's speech before it happened.

it is so suspenseful even the week to week waits are undesirable via fact which you quite care with reference to the characters and lost is infamous for killing them off! And their are fairly some them, they commence out with like 12 significant ones, and introduce some new ones each season. Your fortunate in a manner, you are able to in basic terms watch the 1st 5 seasons on DVDs (Season 5 is out December 8th) at your man or woman %. and could no longer could desire to bear the long waits in between seasons, different than the single we are in now, Season 6 is the final one, commencing in January 2010. Oh, and no it is not cancelled they have had the tip date set for approximately 2 and a a million/2 years with the help of ways.

The show is losing me. It is skipping around so many different subjects that I can't keep up. What about the season finale when those people were in some place trying to track them down and they told that girl they think they found them. Did that ever get brought up again? If so, I missed it.

I think he had a premonition of lightening striking and to prevent harm from befalling anyone he rigged the lightening rod.
