At Random like? Napoleon was born in Corsica, but ruled France for a long time and is dead.

The French philosophers - Jean Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir are dead and then you've got writers like Voltaire.

Jean Dominique Bauby - author of the Diving Bell and the Butterfly is dead

Monet the painter was french wasn't he?

A few people above me actually name people who were in fact Austrian and German - Marie Antoinette and Beethoven - oh dear.

Oh and I'd also like to point out that Van Gogh was DUTCH, da Vinci Italian, and that de Gaulle is spelled with two 'l's' and and e on the end, and that he was also president of France as well as a soldier!

I'd love a straw poll of the age and nationality of those people posting wrong answers.

She was the "godmother" of the study of radium.
