Duncan, I have BEEN that girlfriend! Here's what I've learned so far...This stems from insecurities. Either, she feels really crappy about herself, (ex. she thinks she's ugly, fat, stupid, etc...) or she's had a previous relationship mistreat her somehow. It's hard to not carry our old issues into our new relationships and that could be her problem.
Either way, you have 2 choices. #1. Of course you can dump her and stop putting up with the madness. Or #2. You can work hard at reinforcing how much you love her, how much you trust her and how beautiful she is, how lucky you are to have her, etc...In time, hopefully she'll come around. #3. Go find yourself an older woman because this kind of behavior is commonly found in younger girls. It's just something we have to grow out of sometimes.
Good Luck!

Sounds like she is insecure. She has probably been cheated on before. She feels like that if she is always expecting it to happen then it will not hurt as bad if it does. I dated a girl that had been beaten by her ex and whenever we would get in an arguement she would say "go ahead and hit me I know you want to". It was wierd and uncomfortable. You just need to be reassuring to her that you would never cheat on her.

Well I personally was cheated on by a boyfriend with 4 different girls, and it took me a while to get over that. I got a boyfriend right after him, and I constantly Was worried what he was doing when I wasn't around but I got over it, and he told me he would never do something like that. You should just give her time, and sit her down and explain to her your not that kind of guy.

There is usually three main reasons women do and feel this way A)Past relationships B)Past experiences with the man in question and C)insecurities (which can be sparked by a,b, or anything else including low self esteem).

Best Wishes!!

No but I had a possessive boyfriend who always thought I was cheating on him. He made me Sick! I just couldn't live with a relationship like that! I don't think they realize how much pressure they put on a person.

Maybe they are just scared of losing their boyfriends and a bit insecure.
Try show her some love and maybe she wont be so possesive!

no. but i might have some advice for you.

if you have ever cheated on your girl friend... that might leave her with some discomfort, there for you kinda lost her trust. and thats going to take some time to get back

but if you havent

take your girl friend to a quiet place were you two can talk alone, talk to her. ask her why she thinks you cheat. let her talk to you (when she talking dont interupt, me being a girl, i hate it and it just makes me mad). when she tells you why, just let her know that you trust her and she should trust you back, let her know your not going to cheat on her and that she means alot you to you, if you realy like her you should show that "love" for her. just let her know

I use to be like that. I don't know why. My husband it the greatest, maybe I get scared that he is so good that everyone wants him. I hate being that way but sometimes the green monster still comes out.

chatting with lady buddies is large, it quite is while it is going into emotional cheating that it is not ok. in case you frolicked with them instead of your gf or talked to them greater desirable than your gf then that could desire to be a project. the two way, while you're no longer with your gf anymore then why do you care?

She has been raked through the coals and doesn't know how or who to trust anymore. She is probably paranoid of getting hurt like that again.
