if you take the spill proof stopper out of it to let her see how juice will come out she will suck on it. Once she gets the hang of it you can put the stopper back in.

I would still continue to give it to her. She will eventually learn. Right now you can give it to her to play with and then wait a week or 2 and try again with juice or water.
My son is 5 months and I have been letting him play with his sippy cups for about 2 weeks now. He tries to suck from it so I think he might get the hang of it by the time he is 6 months.
I wouldn't be too concerned about it just yet. It might just take her a few more weeks.
Good luck!

My daughter did the same with her sippy cup at that age. I think it's a little early for a baby to drink well from a sippy...they're still just figuring it out. Why do you want to wean her from bottles? Most pediatricians recommend beginning the bottle-weaning process around the age of one, so hopefully you're not feeling some kind of pressure to get her off bottles. You still have lots of time. : )

I started my daughter on a sippy cup at 5 months...at first she would play and chew on it...and every now and again suck and get some water (thats all I put in her cup) She can get it to her mouth, but won't drink from it if she is holding it...so I hold it for her and a month later she drinks great from it and she loves it!! She still plays with it, but whenever I hold it for her and tip it up, she drinks...maybe just a little time and patience will get your daughter drinking from it as well...Good luck!

They make sippy cups for toddlers gaining expertise of to get off the bottle. The section the place the liquid comes from is gentle and smewhat resembles a bottle nipple, yet nevertheless a sippy cup. you will get them at wal mart for like $2. I artwork at a daycare and distinctive paretns attempt rthat while they're approximately 8 months,s itting up and taking off their mouths for the food.

she is still devoloping. Wait a little longer. Also just a suggestion. When she is about 2 let her start sipping on straw sippy cups. My sister only drank out of the regular sippy cups and her speech and mouth ficture needs help. Just a suggestion.(I only have one sister, but I have 11 baby cousins and a 12th about to be born this October.) Good luck!

It takes a bit of time for them to figure out how to get the liquid out of the sippy cup... just let her 'play' with it for a little bit more and I'm sure she'll get the hang of it soon enough. Did you already try putting a little milk on the spout of it, or filling it up in front of her? That way she knows there is some good stuff inside!

Seems pretty early for the sippy cup but to each his own. I wouldnt change what you are doing, let her get used to it. You can buy the kind that look like they have nipples on the top from walmart. Dont push this too hard, enjoy her babiness while it lasts cause it doesnt last very long.

whats the rush? i have t young kids one 5 and the other just over 2 my daughter (the older one) still uses a bottle at sleep time, she knows its a bit " baby" but it make her feel good and when she wants to give it up she will...my son (2 year old) never really liked the bottle and drinks from a sippy cup...hey when the time comes they will ween themselves off the bottles and cups don't rush the small stuff. my two cents.
