Good Question. I just read "The Sociopath Next Door" by Martha Stout, PhD. If a druggist charged $2,000 for a drug, and my loved one was dying, if he didn't get this drug, I might steal it, if it was the only way to keep him alive. Everything is not black and white. There is a lot of Grey area, I think. This would be an exception, to the rule. No we don't steal. It's wrong. But we do have a conscience.

It's wrong to get caught. Taking is a relative action. In some cases it's wrong.Don't quote the Ten Commandments. The original text is of a more contextural flavor. In the English version, Thou Shalt not Kill. In Hebrew it says,Thou Shalt Not Commit Murder.

Completely !
People with insufficient funds get hammered for steeling.
It is considered correct behaviour if you are wealthy (unless found guilty).
However, if a poor person steels huge amounts of capital without getting prosecuted, that is also considered correct behaviour.

Is this a joke.Of course it is. It's basic manners. What happened to integrity and contentment? Believe me I know what it is to lack but I would be depressed if i had chosen to go down that road. I am not saying that you might not be tempted but I prefer good over evil. there is help out there. There are worse situations in life.

No matter what reasoning, it is always wrong to steal.
the only exception is that the item you have stolen was stolen from you in the first place. This excuse will not work unless you have proof.
If it's a problem then seek professional advice.

It's WRONG to STEAL - whether you're rich or poor! Life is unfair sometimes but 2 wrongs don't make a right!

In my country (the Netherlands) a roman catholic bishop said it's not wrong to steal a bread if you are hungry. His name was Muskens.
He almost got lynched over that statement but I think there's at least some truth in it...

It is always wrong to steal. If you need help there are plenty of people that will help you if you ask. Or there are orginazations out there that offer help. You shouldn't steal no matter what the circumstanses are.
