I posted this on another person's question about PI surfing...

Apparently Surigao is the best place to surf in the Philippines. It on the east coast of an island in the Visayas group (middle of the Philippines). Here is a link: http://www.surigaoislands.com/ There's lots of info on that site.

Surigao is apparently a great reef break, but the travel to the island is apparently very arduous. I think that it's the only really famous surf spot. But, someone could correct me on that.

La Union (which is about a 5 -7 hr drive northwest of Manila) is a popular surf spot. I have been there many times, but I found it to be very, very unpredictable and uneventful. I don't recommend La Union.

When you find out, let the Philippine governement know....they do a terrible job promoting tourism there.

In Manila, Davao, or Cagayan de Oro, I never saw any surfers. My guess somewhere in Palawan for surfing, but just a guess.
