I have been wondering for a very long time, have there ever been any rumours or suggestions that Star Wars episodes 4, 5, 6 would be re-made, or whether there would be a furhter 3 episodes: 7, 8, and 9?

That is what happened with the video discs. they remade the three movies with new graphics. As for 7,8,&9, Keep requesting it and it may just happen.

The first thing to remember is that George Lucas is willing to lie and change his mind quite often. When he released the original trilogy on dvd, people complained about the changes. He said the altered versions were the only official versions now and the original theatrical versions would never be released again. They just were. Him saying he's done means nothing to me because he has either lied or changed his mind many times before. All I know is that the original cast is about 5-10 years from being old enough to fill their roles in the last 3 so Lucas has a few years to make his mind.

No I think that the Star Wars saga is all over now. I know that in a couple of years George Lucas is going to put together all 6 and re release them with new scenes and everything.

No remakes I can gurantee that. Lucas would never allow it... As for the next 3 in the series I doubt it. He just wanted to tell the story of anakin and his son luke. The future of the series have already been told in the novels.

The next three are supposed to be made, but it's not in contract or anything. The same guy won't be doing them, so they'll have to find someone else to make those movies... I haven't heard anything about the first three being remade.
