I work in a small company of four people. Only me & the boss got the net. It was installed originaly on his PC & then on mine. We both connect to the net seperatly thru wireless connectors to a central modem/box thingy thats not connected to our pCs. we are allowed surf at lunch but can my extra curricular surfing be tracked even though i delete all history, cookies & temp files outside of lunchtime??

Largely depends who's taking the time to watch - the ISP logs stuff like sites visited, and there is software (which has to be installed manually) which can display what you see on your screen on, say, your manager's screen, so he could observe and possibly record your every move. A company firewall probably also logs websites visited and from which machine.

Of course, if nobody checks the records then nobody will know!

If you've been using your computer for a few months, you should consider doing more than deleting your Internet Explorer history. But here's how you delete your Internet Explorer history: (1) Click the Start Orb (2) If Internet Explorer is your default Web browser, its icon appears at the top of the left-hand panel of the Start Menu. Right-click it. (3) From the context menu that appears, choose: Internet Properties. (4) The Internet Properties applet will appear. It will open with the 'General' tab being the one you see first. (5) Look for the Browsing history section of the 'General' tab. It will have a button labelled 'Delete'. Click the 'Delete' button. (6) A 'Delete Browsing History' window will appear. Look for the button labelled 'Delete all'. Click the button labelled 'Delete all'. (7) A window confirming your request will appear. It will have an added option-checkbox with text beside it that reads: "Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons". Click that option so that a check-mark appears in the box. (8) Click the button labelled 'Yes'. (9) A new window will appear that asks you to wait while the browsing history is deleted. When it is finished, that window will disappear, leaving the 'Internet Properties' window showing. Click the button labelled 'OK' and the 'Internet Properties' window will disappear.

the only way to wipe data from your computer is to overwrite it. you would need to fill your hard drive up completely with new folders or anything this will wipe old data you thought you'd deleted. but every site you go on could be tracked externally to your machine. each website you visit can log en extensive amount of data. once you've been on something theres no going back I'm afraid. why would you want to delete your history ETC... surely you wouldn't visit them kinds of websites at work? would you?

look into downloading some software this one seem sot be handy

Hell yes. The IT Manager would have installed a tracker which records key presses and web sites, since you're using their internet server....
