The only war currently going on in the US is the Drug War. On the one side, you have bureaucrats and law enforcement personnel whose job it is to bust people for using certain drugs. This is even applied to herbal remedies, most notably marijuana. On the other side, you have all sorts of people: there are people who want to sell a little grass for money to feed their kids, and there are people who sell their kids for money to feed their habits. You have gangsters who never use the drugs themselves, but take risks to supply them in vast quantities, and pimps who get young women addicted so they will turn tricks for a fix.

And through it all, there is a veritable army of prison guards and parole and probation officers and county clerks and prosecutors and investigators and social workers and on and on, all getting a salary only because drugs some people want are illegal.

We could end this war in a minute by repealing all laws against drugs, or we could de-escalate it in a variety of ways. The Libertarian Party is the only one seriously proposing to work this out, and end the pain of those left at home when the breadwinner goes to San Quentin, the little kids who are told "Daddy will come home when he can, honey; he still loves you." The old fathers who wonder if they will get to see their sons again before they die. The wives who cry into their pillows at night because their incarcerated husbands have been fed the lie that no woman remains faithful to a husband under these circumstances, and cannot understand why her beloved cannot trust her. And the hollow-eyed young men who emerge from those prisons after a thorough education in illegal activities, and almost nothing else they can imagine doing to make money to support the family who has suffered so without him.

Yes, there IS a war going on in the US. I, for one, pray for amnesty for all the POWs.

First thing first, learn how to spell, then try learning about the war. However you go about learning about the war in Iraq, please please, don't read the New York Times, or the Boston Herald. Those papers are left wing crazies that need a reality check. What you should do is listen to some talk radio!!!! Bill O'Riely, Jay Severn, Michael Graham. Read books, ask people, for the Love of God don't read the news papers I mentioned. And when you find out some information make up your own opinion, think for yourself that's the most important thing. Get back to me when you find some info. and we'll continue this conversation, until then get educated!!

it depends what you want to know. But your best recourse is the news. I know that everything the news says is not true but one thing they do keep up with is whats going on with the war. if you google Iraqi Freedom you will get lots of articles on the war.

Ummmmmm.....there is no war going on here. Sorry.

The last war we had in the US was the Civil War, and that was more than 150 years ago.
