Tell me what area you live in, and I'll give you the nearest address of a knowledge school, who in turn will explain the procedures for becoming a London taxi driver. But let me tell you this; as a London cabby for the last 17 years, it is extremely hard work, both mentally and physically, there are no short cuts, you've got to be out there to learn it the right way, if you expect to do it full time, kiss goodbye to your social life, because it takes over, and becomes an obsession, try not to involve any of your immediate family when learning it, this will just cause break up's and bad feelings. At the public carriage office (tfl) they have notice boards with other people just starting out of whom requires call over partners, the school will also advise you this, do not join a school as yet, just get some advice, they will give you all the (Runs + points) once you get to a certain stage, normally half of the blue book (the runs), but they will initially help you with the first batch, clip board, point sheets, maps etc. And then after two and a half to three years, you will have earned the right to wear the much revered green badge, And then, and only then, does the real hard work start.
