According to the link below, Harvard ranks #1 in the world, while IIT isn't even in the top 300 (but is in the top 400).
IIT may actually be better than Harvard for some engineering programs. But it is unlikely that it is better tthan MIT, Cal Tech or UC-Berkeley in those fields (since they are the three best engineering programs in the world).

IIT is best in India only because they spent lot of money for research compare to other universities in India. But We can not compare with World top ranking universities like Harvard.

Harvard is better , eventhough IIT-Kanpoor is also one of the best in India.because only two institute is in world ranking.One is IIT kanpoor which is 250 th rank in world.and IISc bangalore which is 280 th rank.

IIT is the best as i think even those who study frm abroad they still bow their heads to the Indian techs. as they know that those who reach in IIT must be somewhat Geniuus. But if someone wants to come to abroad in the later life then Go to Harward as they prefer more their own grads. and offer more handsome money

In India they must have a magazine or an agent that keep track or such issues.
