This is the archetypal "never finished high school but i'm going to prove all of science wrong in a sentence" question.
In physical cosmology, the Big Bang is the scientific theory that the universe emerged from a tremendously dense and hot state about 13.7 billion years ago. The theory is based on the observations indicating the expansion of space (in accord with the Robertson-Walker model of general relativity) as indicated by the Hubble redshift of distant galaxies taken together with the cosmological principle.
It's not been 100% proven, but alternatives including Steady State Theory have been largely discredited. Nevertheless, it is one af a number of theories that explains quite adequately how the universe is here without any equivalent of you with your bricks and cement.
This answer won't be selected as best answer, because you're a religious nutter. A tenner says that it's better than the eventual "best answer" though.

There is no reason to believe that the universe came into being via the same physics that we take for granted and experience everyday whilst sitting INSIDE the universe.
The physics as we know it, all the laws that govern the universe, as well as space and time itself all belong and are integral to the universe... So it may well be completely impossible to create a new universe (or a house brick from nothing) from within this universe, but relatively straightforward outside the universe.
Going back to your original question, just because you require solid building materials for a house within this universe, you may not need anything at all to create a new universe, when you're not already sitting inside a universe, with its limiting laws of physics.

The total energy content of the Universe could be zero---the energy needed to make the particles comes from the negative potential energy of the gravitational field. Given the laws of physics as we understand them, it is possible to make a Universe out of nothing.
The next question is, where did the laws of physics come from?
Possibly, they are eternal and therefore don't need to "come from" anywhere.

apparently, nothing was so dense and heavy it exploded. sounds weird, but all the matter and anti-matter in the universe add up to zero - to nothing....
a few elements were created in this explosion, then as gravitiy pulled elements together, great heat cooked those few elements into more elements and so on.
(btw, the universe is not much like a house.)

According to theory, all the matter in the universe was compressed to a small volume, then exploded in what is called the big bang. So, the universe was here and not made of nothing.

Sorry, dude, but there's no definite answer to your question. The best minds in science have been trying to figure out how the universe began for a very long time. Lots of theories, but no indisputable proof.

Not only was the Universe created out of nothing, it contains nothing and no-one. Dear, dear bonehead: History is a myth. So is Science. I used to know a bloke called Bonehead. His real name was Christian Graf Von Holstein Pinneberg. I wonder where he is now? Nowhere, probably.

You could build a log cabin. How do you know the universe was created with nothing? Were you there?

I've seen a TV show where someone built their house out of polystyrene block. but she did use cement and some metal poles. and it structurally fine.
