I heard a Fly buzz (465)
by Emily Dickinson

I heard a Fly buzz – when I died –
The Stillness in the Room
Was like the Stillness in the Air –
Between the Heaves of Storm –

The Eyes around – had wrung them dry –
And Breaths were gathering firm
For that last Onset – when the King
Be witnessed – in the Room –

I willed my Keepsakes – Signed away
What portions of me be
Assignable – and then it was
There interposed a Fly –

With Blue – uncertain stumbling Buzz –
Between the light – and me –
And then the Windows failed – and then
I could not see to see –

As I was dying on the edge of it being over I could hear a fly in the room.
All that were there were weeping. Expecting me to go at any second.
I was waiting for "God" to come. I saw the light. Then the blue fly came between me and light "God".
I think about the materials I am leaving behind.
Then the light stopped glowing. I couldn't stay here anymore. I left. Conflict of staying or leaving over.

A lot of humans suppose that they're definite they realize the reply, however no person fairly is aware of. It is up so that you can come to a decision what you suppose the reply is, or to simply come to the realization that you do not know the reply. I will supply you a trace, despite the fact that. If there's a God, do you fairly suppose he could punish anybody for being born into the "incorrect" faith? Is a youngster who dies going to burn in hell for eternity due to the fact that he was once born into the "incorrect" faith and didn't make the "proper" offerings? Same query concerning humans who have been born in far off villages in which they were not even made mindful of this faith? All whilst even as anybody who kills hundreds of thousands of humans can reside in everlasting glory due to the fact that he switched to the "proper" faith moments earlier than he died? If there's a simply and righteous and merciful God who's making choices on an afterlife, does any of that fairly make experience? This is the way in which I appear at it. I take a look at my fine to be a well person, as I would not be competent to reside with myself in the world and revel in my lifestyles if I was once evil. I am residing beneath the belief that once I'm lifeless, I'm not anything however a number of bones buried underground, and that's it. If there's a God and an afterlife, optimistically I'll be rewarded for my makes an attempt at seeking to be a well man or woman, however I'm no longer anticipating whatever. I could bear in mind whatever after dying to be a "bonus". Either I'll uncover out approximately this "bonus" after I die, or I would possibly not due to the fact that I'd be lifeless and that's it.
