I don't think its really one person in particular that would do the "reckoning". It's a matter of yourself and your sole. You know what you do is wrong when you do them. If you screw someone over to get ahead at your job you know you did wrong. If you made fun of the fat kid in high school you know you did wrong. What I believe is that it boils down to the extremely basic principal
"treat others the way you would like to be treated" if you you're kind to people like you want them to be kind to you you're all good!

a good question indeed.
people who believe in Karma believe that God reckons - judges - each or our deeds as good or bad.
If I were to judge, I would judge on the following:
Collectively we would like to live peaceful lives in harmony with nature. All the deeds that take the human kind towards this goal, are good and otherwise they are bad.
Our intentions also play important role in our deeds as we might have good intentions but bad knowledge our understanding of the environment or the situation..... Don Quixote or Ghingese Khan.
Yes, it does become very diffcult under some circumstances.

Nobody is going to reckon it...
There is no good or bad deed... A hero of war is villain in the enemy country. The enemy country will call it a bad deed, where as a war hero has done extremely noble , good, and selfless deed as per his own countrymen !
But for karma , it is the residue of any action which generates further re-action, and therefore called as karma. Any person who treats the situation as more important than himself, and does what is needed in the situation is free from any residue, so will have no karma at all irrespective of the nature of his action !

Fundamental law of nature that does justice automatically.
It is like if an apple falls from a tree who makes gravity work on it ?
Similarly this law of justice works. This is known as the principle of karma. But unlike a falling apple law of karma may take some or more time to administer its effects. But the effects are usually administered with compound interest !
The highest goal of the human life is to become free from the effects of the law of karma. The way is God realization (or whatever you may choose to call it). It is the true liberation, being free from bondings !!

Whatever good and bad are your own jusgtment. In karma whoever did the things whoever got the result. You like to kill then when you are going recreation, you will easily to get into the animals world to kill each other. In the karma rule, there is no good or bad. Those are your feeling, your habits, your behavier and your love.

There is no reckoning - just "equality." What you did will be returned. Positive and negative are indifferent.
This is not what is shown in "My Name is Earl" where Karma seems to play more a role of an "accountant god."

Karma is NOT a "reward and punishment system". It doesn't matter whether you did something good or bad.
"What goes up must come down" or "what goes around, comes around" define it a little better.
If you throw a boomerang, you will not get a ball back - you will get the boomerang back.

exactly, karma or deeds are not good or bad. they are just that- deeds... if you steal from someone else, you would be stolen from. if you bring a smile on someone's face, then someone else will bring a smile on your face... it's a cycle.
