i lost faith in the united states government long ago i would not by choice defend it.this country has lost the meaning of the word free but i do support the original ideals of our founding fathers. so i guess many people would call me unpatriotic some an extremist, have even been called a terrorist because i refuse to stand by and watch this country's government destroy the idea of true freedom. with all that said it is not bad to be unpatriotic nor does that make you a bad person what that does make you is a person that can see the truth behind the lies now you have the choice to stand on the sidelines or join the game.

I don't think it makes you a bad person.

I'm about as patriotic as the toad that lives under my porch.

This nation is too wrapped up in the most assinine crap...should we say "one nation under God" in our Pledge of Allegiance? Should the national anthem be sung in Spanish? Most of what is argued is so stupid and will be completely irrelevant in a few years.

Yet our health care system continues to go down the crapper. I am not patriotic because this nation fails year after year to take proper care of its citizens. You get better health care in Canada, Switzerland and KUWAIT than you do here in America. People are even going to INDIA to have surgeries because the doctors are American or British schooled and INCLUDING AIR FARE AND LODGING it is cheaper to have surgery in India than America.

I think your chances are to be a better person if you are not patriotic, it means you will never fight useless wars killing innocents for the sake of a country, and that you have a healthy ego that doesn't need to be defined as belonging to a group of people. It will also mean you regard most of people in the world as equals at least regardless of their nationalities, and will also mean you think and are not easily led by boisterous politicians who like to speak patriotically

It doesn't make you a bad person, no, but why are you unpatriotic?

Being patriotic doesn't mean you have to agree with the gov't, it's more or less being proud in your country and how great we actually do have it, compared to other countries.

You could still use my statement, even though you are british.

No! I don't know if there is such a thing a patriotism. The Government and big business hide behind 'patriotsm' when it suits them. Governments work together as one in different countries, hand in hand with businesess.

When you look at some of the awful things that this country has done in its history, its hard to believe how anyone could be patriotic!

no, not really. but if you are against a country and its gov't then that may be another story. you still really wouldn't be a bad person, though. bottom line, if you choose to live here, then it can't be that bad, or you'd leave.

besides, i think most patriotic people are so proud of their country that they think they are better than other countries, which i think is very bad.

I don't recognise ANY border. I was born into the world, so I am a 'World Patriot'. I refuse to kill anybody, for whatever reason.
Prisons are there for a reason.
Planet Earth is my territory.

Caring about the land you love makes you patriotic. Disagreeing with your government is democracy at work.
