Anything cotton put in the dryer will shring. Guaranteed. So now you did not gain weight over night. I try to hang anything cotton, especially jeans on a line and then throw in dryer for a couple minutes to get wrinkles out. Works everytime.

anything that is made form cotton can possibly shrink in the dryer. if it says preshrunk on the label then it shouldn't, but i had that happen so many times, that i finally started air drying anything that i didn't want to shrink, whether i thought it would or not. you can either hang these up to dry, or you can put them in the dryer on air fluff.

depends on the type of cotton. Some from india can shrink more than half their size. When in doubt, wash in cold water and hang dry.

It can. Use Woolite, hand wring out excessive wetness, then hang it on a hanger to dry.
