I was paid decent wages, and given over-time and good benefits when I was employed there 7 years ago. My complaint was that my managers were total jerks, one abused drugs, and verbal abuse was common. Their "promotions" seemed very unfair, also. While they did promote women regularly, you had to look a certain way, and be a real brown-noser. Several promotions were given to brand new employees, instead of workers who did their jobs well, and had been there for years. They also regularly put women in inappropriate jobs. I was a truck unloader, part of a 12 person crew. Only I and one other woman was able to do any heavy lifting, the rest fell on the 5 guys. Five women on that crew basically stood watching, getting the same pay, while we worked. Many times they asked to be moved to stocker positions, or checkers, but were told no. I was injured twice by accidents caused by the same woman, and they refused to move or fire her. I finally got so frustrated I quit. Two weeks after I left, the woman who was so accident prone, ran over a co-worker with a hand truck loaded with 1500lbs of dog food. He had three craked ribs, and several broken bones in his hand. She was still left in that position!! I would not recommend anyone try to get a job at Wal-mart, my experiences were so bad I won't even shop there anymore.

I work for them which store I will not say but some othe their work ethics are not up to standard.
Now as for as them paying below minimum that is not ture are at lest in the store that I work for.
Overtime well in some cases they will ask you to clock in late are send you home if you have to much time.
I have been with them for long time and have seen lots of changes some good and some not so good.
Some members of managemt misunderstand what uper management want and inforce their own idea of what upper management wants.
Even when home office send down computer base learning modules sometime store management still does what they want to do.
Wal-Mart is not evil it just has some dumb managers that don't know the Laws and regulations of each state.
In some state anything over 40hrs is overtime where in others anything over eight is overtime.
Well anything over your scheduled time to me is overtime that is based on a 8 hour shift.
The thing that bothers me is when you have paid for something at the checkouts and then before you leave they check the ticket at the door, now to me that is a gross vilation of your rights.
Wal - Mart does a lot of things that are not constituional are that are right does this make them evil or bad NO just mislead and misguided.
All companies have practices that are not lawful it is up to use the American people to see that they follow the rules and not their own rules.

Walmart is evil. As are most large department stores and food stores.
The whole basis of these places is to get the most work out of the least amount of people while keeping their wages as low as they can. And health insurance/benefits Hah! There are NONE.
So the solution is....stop shopping these stores, start shopping the mom and pop stores in your area...
Why are we spending so many hard earned American dollars on cheap Chinese imports? This is what is killing our country and our way of life.

They have a great work ethic. They work you as hard and long as they can for a little money as possible (God Bless America).
It's debatable. I know a couple of people who work there and like it.
Follow some links around - there are plenty - decide for yourself.
