Oh goodness yes. I once saw a spider dangling from a web inside my apartment and it scared the crap out of me but I couldnt kill it and ended up watching it for like six hours, and i am not exaggerating, until my mom came home and killed it for me. Sucky thing was that I had just drunk two bottles of water because i was feeling dehydrated and i had to go to the bathroom really bad. One jumped out at me while I was on the toilet once. Another time I was typing out an email and one crawled onto my keyboard. I remember pretty much all the times I have ever seen a spider and how i reacted to it. I hate them sooo much and would be alot happier if there was none left. Im ok around other bugs though.

Afraid???? More like petrafied!!! I don't know why. I'm a girl and I'd much rather get in a street fight with a man 3 times my size verses having to deal with a spider the size of a dime. Yea, I am afraid of and totally HATE spiders.

Not at all. It is not like they are after us or anything. I do have respect for them, though. I had a lot of pet spiders in my home in Florida on the screened in front porch. I just let them live there. If a cockroach (palmetto bug) tried to set foot inside, those spiders were right there. So, I welcome them. If have seen people with a lot of injuries (some permanent) from a brown recluse spider. They are wickedly poisonous, but they don't seek you out.

Great Question. Yes. I think the fear came from my Mom. I was cleaning the basement one night, and I actually heaved when I saw one. When I was a kid and we had to clean the basement, I would scream when I saw them, and that would cause my brother & I to have a fight. I recently forced myself to kill one, since I live alone now, to try to overcome my fear, I'm 52. It took a while. I use to get my Rainbow vacume cleaner and suck them up. You don't know if they are going to jump, move in which direction, that is the worst part. They can even fall from the ceiling. You don't know where they will go. I have a son-in-law who is over 300 lbs. who is more afraid that I am, he runs out the door. It's a learned fear I think, and I think it can be overcome. If someone else is around to kill them for you, we depend on them. The big furry ones are the worst of all. Once I put my hand on a daddy long legs by accident and I completly freaked out. My daughter put plastic spiders in my bed, my glass of water, I almost drank it, I freaked out. I need glasses, and when I saw them, and I figured it out, I was yelling, I'll kill her, I'll kill her. It's funny now. She got me good. I'm trying to overcome my fear by killing them myself, I'm forcing myself. I'm not afraid of anything else; mice, snakes, etc.

Come on. I'm a big boy now, I'm not afraid of some little eight legged . . . WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT! Sorry, I thought something was crawling up my leg. Like I was saying, I'm not scared of spiders.

I never used to be, but a few weeks ago I happened upon one sitting in the middle of my kitchen, and when I made a move to nudge it out the door, all of its babies fell off of it and began their scatter across the floor. That was one of the most disgusting and frightening moments I've ever experienced!

Not afraid of your daddy-long legs but am afraid of the fat round ones that if you get bit by one can kill you. I do not know the name of it but if you get bit it will go all the way into the bone and can kill you. A doctor will have to cut it out and it is not nice. Know of a girl that it happened to.
