I am 10 weeks pregnant I have been having dreams about having twins. I have always wanted twins. I have 2 great-grandmothers that were twins on my dad's side.

THERE ISN'T ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO SAY THAT YOU ARE HAVING TWINS. GO TO THE DOCTOR AND GET AN ULTRASOUD.

I was pregnant 6 months ago before having a miscarriage at 12 weeks. When I was pregnant, I had dreams about having twins, too... and wondered the same thing! The doc would have told me it was twins after my D&C, but it was just one that didn't make it... Don't worry I'm sure you're not having a miscarriage!!!!!!! My point is that dreams just tend to become more frequent and vivid during pregnancy and it is completely normal. Google "dreams and pregnancy."
Who knows, maybe you are having twins, but thought I would share my experience. : )

Could be, but there is no way for us to know over the internet. I have 14 year old twins and I can tell you that FRATERNAL twins can run in familes because the mother must release 2 eggs to have 2 babies and the release of more than one egg can be passed on....and IDENTICAL twins are just a fluke that the egg splits and it is not necessarily genetic. Ask you Dr to do an ultrasound to check and good luck.

Well, a positive family history of twin births no doubt increases your chances of having twins. But love, at the risk of sounding patronizing, don't you think it a bit silly to be having guessing games or trying to be a Joseph(the biblical dream interpreter) in this computer age, when a simple ultrasound scan can settle the issue?

There is a possibility, but you will have to see what the doctor says ie if he finds 2 seperate heart beats that are of different rates ie a fetus heart rate varies from 120 per min to 150 per minute and if there is twins the one may have a rate of say 122 and the other 134. All the best !!!

hmmm great-grandmothers seem a bit distant, but twins certainly run in the family. i'd love to have twins but theyre not in my family. you should be able to tell by now if you're having twins so go for a scan, oh and congratulations xx

Perhaps because you want twins so bad you are subconciously thinking about it constantly. If there are twins in your family there is always a chance that you are having them, but you won't know until you get an ultrasound done.

i think its just ur subconscious mind, when i was pregnant i always dreamed i was having a girl, but i have a beautiful son, but then again u could be having twins since u have twins in ur family, it might be to soon to tell right now

Twin are not all that bad i am a twin and me and my sister are best of friends it is good

hey good luck i had twins and even with the ultr-sound they didn't see the other one until i was almost 6-months pregnant
