I don't remember the name of the episode, but it starred Burgess Meredith as a bank worker who locks himself in the bank vault when the end of the world comes. He's a loner, who doesn't like people, and all he wants to do is read. When he comes out of the vault, he's the only person left. Left with hundreds of thousands of books to read and no one to bother him!!! But, he accidentally drops, steps on, and breaks his reading glasses! Now, he's the ony person left with all those books and no way to read them! AAAHHHH! I'm a big nerd, so that just made me sick! Now that I'm older, I realize he could just find another pair of reading glasses, but at that time-made me ill!

The one I've never forgotten was the episode where a young couple is in a small town where something just seems to be wrong there. There doesn't seem to be anyone else in this small town except the couple.
At that point, I think they spend some time in a diner there, then decide they have to get away from this creepy little town, but there doesn't seem to be any way for them to do that. Finally though, a train arrives and stops in the town. The couple gets on the train, very relieved to be getting away from this town that has freaked them out.
Eventually though, the train stops at the same place where they first got on the train. When it stops a second time, to their horror the couple realizes that the train is really just going around in circles. At that point, the camera pans out, showing that this little 'town' is actually a very elaborate model train set, complete with two miniature human beings.

My favorite Twilight Zone series was the one from the eighties, on TNT. It had all the old stories, but with new actors and directors. My favorite episode however would have to be the one where the chick went to the mall, got locked in, and then found out she was really a maniquin. I'm torn between that and the one where the lady was seeing faces inside of patterns, and she thought they were trying to kill her.

"Terror at 20,000 Feet" with William Shatner as the man who sees a gremblin on his airplane wing ripping out the wiring is the scariest imo. John Lithgow did an excellent job in the role during the movie adaptation also

The scariest one to me is the one with that talking doll (can't remember the name of the episode)---but it had Telly Salaves as the dad and there's this creepy doll that wants to kill him.
I love those shows, so it's hard to pick a fave--however I do like the one with Robert Redford (when he was in his 20's) as the devil who pretends to be a cop and gets into this woman's house who is afraid of dying.

I was young so I hope this was on the TZ....There was one about a doll with a pull-string. And I don't remember if it said something horrible to one of the kids or what but they were trying to destroy it....and it kept coming back! The Dad put it in the garbage can and put a brick on it and the doll was in the door way when he turned his back.....GASP I'm freaking out just thinking about it....

Ooohhh!! The pig one! Where the beautiful girl goes into the hospital for cosmetic surgery, and they don't show anyone's face until the end. Turns out everyone has a pig face but her and she wants to look like them!
