I need a unisex name for a personal reason. Do you know of any that I can use? Or do you know of a website that has Jewish or biblical unisex names? I wanted a name that meant something special to me.

I wanted a good *meaning* behind the name, not just any old name. For example, Cameron is a nice unisex name, but it means crooked or bent nose. I dont want that.

Micah - A Hebrew form of Michael, mentioned in the Bible
Michal - A brook. A biblical name
Michael - Like the Lord. One of the archangels in the Bible

I have a female cousin named Micah.
I always liked Michal for a girl, too - she was one of King David's wives.

Lots of Biblical and Jewish names are recognized in Israel as unisex names, although the original name was either a man's or a woman's only.

Haddas (הדס: myrtle) is a lovely unisex name, and so are Noam (נעם: pleasantness), Shy (שי: gift), Amit (עמית: friend), Sharon (שרון: plain), Yarden (ירדן: River Jordan), Ariel (אריאל: lion of god), Eden (עדן: paradise/ gentleness), Haddar (הדר: majesty), Omer (עמר: sheaf), Tomer (תומר: palm tree), Stav (סתיו: autumn), Yuval (יובל: rivulet), Doron (דורון: gift), Or (אור: light), Lior (ליאור: light of mine), Ori (אורי: my light)...

I can't remember the website, but search for Hitchcock's Bible Names Dictionary. It has hundreds of names from the Bible and their meanings. It does not, however, tell which gender each applies to (although some are a given). I too wanted to find Bible names and found this list to be very helpful. And you can find some very unique names. Good Luck!
