Why do teams have to bid millions just to talk to him? Who do you think will get him? Will he be a bust or the guy everyone wish they got?

When a player is under contract in Japan, MLB teams must pay for the right to negotiate a contract with that player. It's just part of Japanese baseball rules.

Right now, the Mets, Yankees, Red Sox, Seattle, and probably Philly will get in the mix, but right now, the Yankees will probably be the front runner to get him.

He is a pitcher, not a hitter. He was MVP of the World Baseball Classic. I believe he will be what was advertised, based on how he performed in the WBC.

He is one of the best baseball players in Japan. He is both an excellent fielder and home run hitter. He may be even better than Ichiro if he can make a successful transition from the Japan leagues to the Major Leagues. It is really tough to say whether he will be a bang or a bust. So currently he is on many teams' radar zone and they all want him. It should be interesting and only time will tell if he will live up to expectations...
