There are a couple of alternatives here:
1--Stick with the paying job, moonlight or volunteer at the next until something reasonable opens up and you can pay the rent.
2--Do the passionate job long enough to gain experience and credibility, but keep your eyes open for a better situation at the same or a similar job.
Many people report that they chose what they loved and then everything blossomed and fell into place financially from there. Some folks never had that good fortune, but stuck with their labor of love anyway and have no regrets.
3--Can you do teh paying job PT while you prep for and/or pursue the passoinate one?

It depends. If you already have enough money then you will probably want to pursue your passions. But if you're like me and desperately need the dough, you take the higher paying job even if you can't stand it.

A job you are passionate about.
Life is too short, why spend it doing something you hate?

Your first responsibility is to provide for yourself and anyone dependant on you. That's what an adult does. If the one you are passionate about does that, then do that one.
Another possibility is to do the one you like and another part time for the $ if you need the $$.

i m 22yrs but i ve been thru 3 yrs with event co and a few yrs in other trades, i found out that (for me, at least) you can only be contented when u work with your passion. if you work for your passion, your passion keeps u going and you will be surprised on how you can stretch your little income to sustain your lifestyle. otherwise, if you work for the money, it s only the money that keeps u going which u ll get tired of eventually

The job you are passionate about. Even if it doesn't pay, it will bring experience that will bring a bigger job down the road. Even a big paycheck wouldn't be enough if you hate your existence at work.

take the high paying job and keep it for as long as you can stand it, but live as if you were getting paid the salary of the other job. put the difference in investments/retirement savings. when you've had enough, take the more satisfying job

A job you love cause you stop working. It ain't work no more. Then, you make it pay well cause you love doing it. Let me clear, you get so good at it, that people notice. They want your card. Then, you find ways to make it work.

I am an accountant and the pay is well. However I'd rather be social worker or children's advocate or a guardian ad litem volunteer.
