I think you are speaking of gestational age. Meaning if a baby is born premature at 7 months it has abetter chance of survival than that of an 8 month gestation fetus.

This is an Urban Legend, a myth. I can find no evidence supporting it. The longer a baby is in utero , the higher the survival rate. Period.

If you are talking about a living, born baby. then you have gotten a twisted urban legend and it is also completely unfounded.

I think you mean a fetus at 8 months has a better survival rate than a 7 month old fetus if born prematurely. This would be because the lungs need time to mature, and fetuses born too early suffer with respiratory problems.

That, dearest, is what we call an old wives' tale and has no medical basis. The longer the baby stays in utero the higher it's chances of survival, period.

Never heard of this, but I guess that the 7 mth old has another month to go to 8mths, therefore a month further away from it's time of death LOL!!!
