I have one best friend. She is a goth and I am not. But, we are really really close.
My classmates think that I am a jerk to sit with that kind of girl.
What should I do to let them realise that Tags don't matter in friendship....

Tell that a true friend is just that it doesn't matterwhat is going on in their lives you are their friend and always will remain to be their friend no matter what because a true friend neverturns away from anotherfriend because of what otherpeople think of them

What is more important to you you, the opinion of 30 people who want to tell you what to do or the friendship of 1 who really cares about you? You didn't say how old you are, but I assume under 18. I have a 16 year old son who dresses like a goth and has royal blue hair. He also says 'yes ma'am' and opens doors for ladies and is in the gifted program at his school. When his grandmother complains about his clothes and hair, I remind her of that. Maybe when your classmates say something about your friend, you can say something like, " Yes, she does dress differently than you or I, but she is always there when I need her and would do anything in the world for me and is a great artist." Or ballplayer or makes good grades or what ever applies to your friend. Some day they will learn to see the person and not the Tag, but until they do, ignore them. Good for you for being mature enough to see you friend, not her clothes.

Does it really matter to you that much what your class mates think?
Just because they think its uncool to hang out with a goth doesn't mean they are right.
If you have a mind of your own and are able and willing to think for yourself then why does it matter to you so much what other people think?
Stand firm by your choices in life and dont let anyone tell you its not cool to do something,its nothing to do with anyone else who you hang out with.
You are the only person you have to answer to so decide what you are going to do/say and stick to it,dont let others sway your decisions.
Good luck and remember,its not your job to convince other people of anything,if they aren't willing to see things for what they are then thats up to them.

make them realise that she is a really good person no matter what she looks like! i hate it when people haveto have tags or labels for everyone! so just show them and or tell them that just because she wears what she likes that doesnt mean that she is a bad person! and then tell them or ask them if they even know what goth means? cause i think that if they really knew what it means then they will realise that she isnt really goth just cause she wears dark clothes and stuff! but people shouldnt judge you or her or anyone on what they wear!

Well first of all I would say please continue that friendship becasue true friends are not easy to get .If you are so close to that girl, you shud not bother about what others are thinking.You can talk to your classmates and make them understand what she means to you as a friend.But if they still dont understand then leave it.You shud not bother about it anymore.its better to have one great friend than having a few jerks around you.All the best

By continuing your friendship with her will show them that your differences are really a compliment to your relationship.
Dont let them break the 2 of you up. If you dont have a problem with her, then they dont matter.

true fris. are like the ladderrs who help you to achieve ur goals and they share ur happiness and sorrows ans try to resolve the problems . if you think that;ur fri. is like that gem then do no care for others .. if it is possible for u then try to limelight ur firs. qualities may be with the time they will understand that what does she mean to you and why you love her so much. and this is perfect that Tags don't matter. as we belong to the whole universe so this is totally disgusting to name them and discriminate the friends.

Your class mates are the jerks, not you. If they don't understand already that tags don't matter they really aren't worth your time or trouble. Ignore them.

Just keep your friendship and dont think about the world ....AS u cant stop people from saying anything for ur friedship ,,tell people tht u also cant listen anything against ur friendship .....and u wont leave ur friendship if they have problem they can leave ....

Make them realize by being still more friendly to her. Be such a friend to her so that the other guys really feel that they didnt have such a friend.
