What is "finishing the job"? I don't think there is a solution that we could ever achieve in their country. They don't like us, and most don't want us there.

Depends on your definition of soon and finishing the job.
Bush has said it won't happen during his presidency, so if soon is less than 2 more years, NO.
If by finishing the job you mean having a democratic country running itself, then not only not soon, but probably never.

The US will not pull out before "finishing the job" and that won't be until right around election season in 2008.

Sir:
With all due respect, have you not learned
anything from the study of American History?
Did we win in KOREA?
Did we win in VIETNAM?
What makes you think we are going to win a
decisive victory in IRAQ. You cannot win a
POLICE ACTION. You merely become a
sitting duck for snipers, mortar crews, and
roadside bombers.
Didn't you notice that when our guys went into
Bagdad to fight the Sadam Hussain Republican
Guard Elite Troops - - - there was nobody there.
They faded away.
Even now, there is no disarmming of the local militias.
So, guns, grenades, rockets and heavy weapons are everywhere. Is it "winning" to kill one bad guy, or ten
bad guys, or a hundred bad guys? What is WINNING?
How would you define it? In what numbers?

The only job we seem to be getting done in Iraq is the murder of innocent people, destroyed infrastructure and civil war. For the sake of humanity and the spirit of the American people, the sooner the better.

I was anti-war from the begining and I understand that pulling out is the best option for the US, however now that we raised hell in Iraq we can't pull out because the country is on the brink of civil war. At least we're somewhat keeping it together (yeah right), but if we leave more people will die.

Define "finishing the job". I dont think the Bush administration knows what to consider finished. I really don't think they have thought it out that much.

Yes. Maybe you could pitch in by helping Bush define what the job is.

If we don't, they will finish us off. We went in without a plan or a clue. Now we are paying the price. All of those brave troops died for nothing. We were lied to from day one.
