Take one today. If it's negative take another one next week. They will not be wrong if you are bleeding (it's not called a period if you're pregnant) Good luck.

Everyone's cycle is different. There is a myth that woman ovulate 14 days after their period begins...but that is only an AVERAGE and each month can be different. The other thing is that sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days.... so if you are having a shortened cycle one month and you have sex right after your period and you ovulate earlier than day 14 than yes, there is a chance of getting pregnant. The only way to know is to know exactly when you ovulate. There are several ways to know and some are more effective than others. Some can only predict before ovulation happens and some can only predict that is has already happened. The absolute best info I can give you is to go read a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! . It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not.
My husband and I tried for 1 year and had no luck..… We tried ovulation predictors , laying with pillows under me for 20 min. everything……the first month that I began using the book I realized that my timing was WRONG!. We got pregnant that very first month and I am now due Feb 2, 2007. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths! Even if you don't get into charting and everything....it will help you in so many ways!

YOU CAN NOT HAVE A PERIOD WHILE PREGNANT, ITS NOT POSSIBLE.

Getting a 'Period' While Pregnant

Many women report getting what seem like regular periods during early pregnancy. How can this be? First of all, it helps to realize that since the hormones of pregnancy totally prevent ovulation, the bleeding is not truly a menstrual period, but rather early pregnancy bleeding. That said, the perception of having a menstrual period (or more than one) in early pregnancy can confuse the due date and delay some pregnant women from seeking appropriate and timely medical care.

Early pregnancy bleeding
Bleeding in early pregnancy is a common occurrence, but this does not signal a true menstrual cycle, as pregnancy hormones prevent the ovary's release of an egg as well as the buildup and subsequent shedding of the uterine lining. If these episodes are intermittent, they can be perceived as periods, and the mother-to-be may not recognize that she is pregnant. In instances where a couple is unaware that they are expecting, it can be particularly emotionally challenging to find out about the pregnancy at the same time they are told that the bleeding might signal a problem

Periods lasting 6-7 days could be normal especially if it's always been that way but if they are unusually heavy you should see your doctor. There may not be any problem but an expert opinion is always better.
It is indeed possible to be pregnant and still bleed especially if it was unusually light as you said. Modern pregnancy test kits can detect real young pregnancies so get yourself a test kit or visit your doctor as soon as possible for a test. All the best

the usual time to have a pregnancy test is more or less 30 days after your last expected due date to menstruate. However, in my case, I tested positive just after 5 days' delay. In your case, a visit to the ob-gynecologist will be the most logical thing to do. She knows best.
