I find it completely reprehensible that Rush Limbaugh would make fun of a disabled person [Michael J. Fox] and belittle his illness, Parkinson's disease.

Who is his next target - the late Chris Reeve, who as we all know became a "political figure" [by Rush's incredibly slanted definition] and therefore "fair game" by campaigning for stem cell research and spinal cord injury funding?

Will he target the blind? People with Alzheimers?

Sometimes a lack of shame and tact has no bounds. Shame on you, Rush RX!

I'm a regular listener to Rush and he already covered Christopher Reeves when the democrats so callously used him to promote 'universal healthcare' --- which was really reprehensible. Besides, they implied that Reeves would get up and walk if we had universal care.... so are they saying thay had a cure? I wouldn't trust the gov't with MY health THAT'S for SURE!!! I think that's what Rush was getting at in the M. J. Fox thing. M.J.F. is being used as a political tool to promote stem cell research and they have found absolutely NOTHING yet from stem cell research that would suggest Parkinson's could be cured. As a matter of fact- Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld reported last Sunday that Parkinson's may have a cure soon because of promising results in dopamine research. Dopamine is a chemical that transmits signals between brain cells telling the body when to move. When a brain cell is damaged or dies the dopamine levels drop causing the signals to be stopped.
So while I like Michael J. Fox and have enjoyed everything he's been in esp. Back to the Future 1,2 & 3-- I don't give him a free pass when he's wrong and in this case I think he's wrong. I think the real agenda is to keep abortion legal- where else would you get infant stem cells?
As to Rush's comments about Michael J. Fox (which I heard on his show Monday)-- they've been taken out of context and as one who had a great uncle who passed due to Parkinson's (which is why this issue is a big interest to me)- I didn't find the comments all that offensive as they were offered in the spirit of joking around- Rush wasn't being serious even though it's been portrayed that way in the media. Context DOES matter and with today's media all you ever get is a tiny itty bitty glimpse at a larger picture- and those types of situations can easily be taken out of context with meanings and words twisted.
Have a great day!!!

Rush would never pick on that great red neck Superman. Would have love to be big wheel in DNC when Kerry ran. Would have bought home video of Rush and Bush playing golf and every time his face can on popping sounds would get edited inti it.

He pointed out, rightfully so, that as a manipulative tool, that Michael J Fox didn't take his medicine to make a better point for the stem cell research propaganda. It was rude of Rush, but it was manipulative of Fox.

While Limbaugh never made "fun" of Fox, he almost immediately said he crossed the line in saying that Fox was exaggerating his symptoms. However, he had a basis for his OTHER suggestion...that Fox had gone off his medicine in order to call attention to the symptoms. Fox had said in his own autobiography that he went off his meds before speaking in front of Congress a few years back...for the same reason...to visually illustrate the symptoms.

The point Limbaugh was trying to make is a valid one. When people use their personal tragedies for public reasons, they should not be immune from criticism...when it is warranted.

Sir:

Rush does have a perfect right to speak his mind,
as do you, a fellow American Citizen. I am not
pleased by what he said regarding Michael Fox,
but I do stand by his right to say what he thinks.
I probably won't pay much attention to him anymore.
