On my Messenger list I have a male friend that shows off line, but when I go into my Home Page on Yahoo 360 it shows he is on line, (well he is more than a friend) Im not sure which is correct, or if I have a problem with my computer, does any computer boffin know the answer? I don't want to cause an argument if I have a problem with the computer!!

They have it set probably in Messenger, to not let you know they are on-line, but they probably are in fact on-line.

Well, first off, is he just a friend or not?!?!?!?!? :)

Seriously though, the IM client should be more up to date than the website, since it is communicating with the servers more frequently. He may appear online on the web due to the web page not being refreshed.

In yahoo one can be online and you not know it. Because they can select who they want to see or they sign in as invisible. He can see you but you cannot see him. You can send him messages.. You choose this option too....Messenger tab.. Privacy options.. always sign in as invisable. Check or uncheck it...

he is in invisible mode and had not on his yahoo 360 page and his prefences blocked to where it says "show online when i am online on yahoo pages"

Yeah! They are simply hiding! Its called invisible mode!
