My husband drives a 96 camaro at the end of this month it has to be inspected he has a large crack that goes almost all the way across. Will he need to have the windsheild replaced before the inspection?

If the crack goes all the way across from one side to the other it will not pass. Sorry. It is unsafe to drive with a broken windshield anyway because the structural integrity of the glass has been compromised.

In Pennsylvania it depends it the crack is high enough to impede the driver's view

It's pretty likely that he will.

However, many auto insurers will cover windshield replacement at no cost, so check with your carrier first.
