I am supposed to be able to work flexible hours, and it is the way of working that I like best. Not because I am lazy, I just think it is pointless sitting at my desk, when I am bored, tired or unmotivated. I might as well go home early and make up the hours at a later date. However I always feel guilty saying, right I'm off now!!! So instead I sit here aimlessly on the web!!!

Unless you are able to spend time on Yahoo Answers until you 'should' go home, I'd get going now! Make the most of it and make your time up later. If you work flexi time that's the whole point isn't it? Run while you can!!!!!

No how you feel, think they make you feel that way so you will stay, at the end of the day your desk is being paid for so no you, no work !!!!
It's hard, but just do it, be positive and strong then people may not question why you are leaving early when you are well within your rights. Any anyway, only so much surfing you can do !!!!!
be brave !

Why feel guilty if your company allows you to work flexible hours, go home and make the hours up at a later date.

Stay where you are.
When you say 'bored' you basically mean you're skiving and haven't been caught yet.
There's always something to do at work. Go tell the boss that you need a job to do.
Besides, the more hours you do now the less you'll have to do later.

We spend WAY too much energies justifying the use of our times because we are scared of what others might think.
You make the clear decision - and burn the bridges.
Just as we need not justify every decision - we DO need to face whatever consequences come from our decisions.
Express your concern with whomever you are accountable to (boss, etc.) and I bet you would be surprised at the response you receive as they will likely be impressed with your frankness and willingness to ask for advice.
Then... GO HOME.

Go home. You don't have to prove anything to anybody else. You know you're doing your hours - it's nothing to do with anyone else.
I used to work flexi - I loved it. There's no point in sitting there when you're not in the mood - you'll get much more done when you feel more like it anyway!

It's sunny here in London Town. If I was in your shoes, and it would be a bit of a squeeze, then I'd hop it. There's a certain naughtiness about b*ggering off whilst everyone else is grinding their wrists whilst enjoying the symptoms of RSI.
Go shopping, kiss some babies, rob a bank...

If you did a good days' work, feel free to go. If you were slacking, stay on. If you've stayed behind late all this week & been as productive as pos, then yes, leave now. Good thing it's not Friday, cos that's an excuse for a long weekend!!!

I always say I will make it up later but never do. I'd get a different job or run your own internet business on the side when bored with outher work, thats what I do.
