Well, since you're at work . . .
Get up and walk around -- even if your body is telling you to curl up into a ball and cry. It really does help. Caffeine can make cramps worse, so no coffee or Coke today! Also, if you have a space heater, aim it at your lower back. Another thing you can do at work is a little meditation. Focus on the area that is cramping -- picture the cramped muscles. Then, close your eyes and blank your mind except for the cramped muscles. Breathe in deeply, and when you exhale say a word like "relax" or something that just feels good to say that's not too distracting. Continue to breathe deeply and say your focus word with each breath out. Now, picture the cramping muscles relaxing and the tightness loosening. Stay focused on the area and really picture the muscles relaxing. Do that for about 5 minutes each time it seems to be getting worse.

I'm not a yoga teacher or an expert. I've just had severe cramps since I was a teen. I'm in my late 30's now.

Good luck!

Heat - take a wet towel, put it in the microwave 'til it's hot (not too hot) and apply where needed.

Take a hot bath or shower.

Exercise - even though you probably don't feel like it - it works!

Drink plenty of water.

Take a little walk. Drink lots of water. And those heat patches work wonders if you can get your hands on them (I think they're made by Playtex).

when my girlfriend has it she asks me to massage it because it eases the pain. (so give that a try) Just press (not hard) and rotate gently around (around lips, thighs, and so on)
