Well alot can be said about this .........and it really can go either way......( a plus or a minus ) depending on ones perception. Woman tend to ask their partners ( be it husbands or boyfriends, lovers etc .. ) or for some rely on their partners.....for validation ....and opinions.......support, direction...by being or seeming unsure ....of what to do .... hoping for the answers that they want to hear .....and when it's not what they want to hear they tend to think or perceive he is wrong........From my experience .... a man when asked ......a question - sometime will answer directly.... and usually logically without realising whats being asked of him ......very few man understand their partners.
I feel that when someone ask a question its usually ... because they want........validation, confirmation .......or a recourse to blame someone else........
To cut a story short.......some woman like their partners telling them what to do .....it helps them avoid taking responsibility for their action ... and use the blaming stance........and as an adult you always have a choice to listen ... not to listen .... or weigh the cost or profit of doing what a man tells you to do. When you exercise that right ..... you will be able to see man as fallible as woman .... and there is nothing exceptional in them.

I am a man I would not tell anyone what to do, I would give them advice and I would always discuss and help anyone.
Please dont tar every man with the same brush, you will soon get over this when you meet the right person.

A man who gives his opinion, means that he generally cares about the woman he is giving it to, but a woman who knows otherwise, just has to say, "well, I thankyou for that, I shall seriously consider that" and that validates his opinion whether it is wrong or right. I think just letting him know that he has helped you to resolve a problem is sufficient enough for him to trust in you that you have trust in his decisions with his advice whether you take it or not.
He just wants his opinion validated so that he feels of use to you.

Another sexist statement like that which has no empirical basis. Women are like needles in the sea - it just gets too tiring to find out how women actually think?

I guess you can look at that point of view both ways.
I believe men just don't know what they want and try to confuse us in the process. Hoping that we will fall into their trap and when we do, it's a mess.
Don't believe the hype...........

That's cute, and could work on women as well. I love this one: If we can put a man on the moon, why not all of them!?
