I'm getting a cold and I have a very busy weekend coming up and I can't afford to get a full blown cold, does anyone know how to stop it before it gets too bad?

Take plenty of medicine for the cold (I actually took some generic flu/sinus/allergies stuff). Stay warm keep socks on your feet in the house, get plenty of rest and drink hot fluids like tea. Also get peppermints and even some cough drops with menthol in them.

Actually, you cant stop a cold from comming if its already started. Its caused by a virus & theres no cure for any virus. You can take sudafed to ease your symptoms. Or try some lemon stew/ hot-toddy: Mix fresh lemon slices, whiskey, water, and honey in a pot and bring to a boil.....alot of people use this recipie to soothe a head cold. Tastes good too!

I had one last weekend. Everyone told me that if you get drunk on whiskey when you wake the next morning it would be gone. I don't drink, so I didn't try it. Maybe you can see if it works. My father-in-law drinks it all the time, and I've never seen him with a cold. Who knows?

wouldnt think you would be able to stop it but i can tell you of a fantastic little product called drixine that i originally found as drops for my kids when they were little and it clears the nose just like that....now they have it in a nasal spray for adults

get in bed before hand and stay real warm. It always works for me
