At the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a dispute over land and borders.
It started in 1948 when Israel was created,by a UN resolution,in Palestine, which at that time was under a British mandate. The Arab countries around didn't accept the decision and the next day they attacked the new created state.Israel won this war.In 1967 Israel attacked Syria,Egypt and Jordan in a pre-emptive war. They occupied and annexed to Israel Gaza Strip, the Sinai Peninsula, the West Bank of the Jordan River (including East Jerusalem), and the Golan Heights.Millions of Palestinians ended up living in UN's refugees camp in Lebanon
There are 3 UN resolution that ask Israel to end the occupation on the Palestinians territories and the other territories that they occupied in 1967 ,but the Israelis refuse to do it...
Since then Palestinians are living under Israeli occupation and they are refused even the elementary rights any human should have... And there are millions of Palestinians living in UN's refugees camps...Israel refuses to let those people come back to their lands...

well this is a tough one, and probably there is no answer to that question otherwise the conflict would have been easier to solve.
some pointers:
1. Israelis claim rights to the land from the bible.
2. Palestinians claim right since the lived there when the Zionist organization was established
3. the jews have no other country and after WW2 it was clear they need one.
4. most of the middle east states were invented by england and France when they divided between them the remains of the Turkish empire after WW1. they have created lebannon seria jordan and Palestine.
in Palestine lived Arabs and jews at the time.
5. jordan was the Palestine state. and until today there is a majority of palestines in jordan
5. after WW2 the UN voted for dividing palestine to 2 states one for the jews and one for the arabs. the jews agreed.
6. the Arabs did not agree and at the day england left armies from seven Arab countries invaded the new state of Israel
7. Israel won the war and enlarged the teretories given by the UN
8.the land that is known today as the west bank was jordan at the time.
9. Gaza strip was Egypt at the time
10.in 19667 israel attacked egypt and seria after Nazer (egypts presidant) closed access to the red sea (an act of war)
jordan joined the arab countries
11. israel won that war and occupied more teretories.
12.after the peace agreement with egypt israel withdrew fro the sinai peninsula. egypt refused to take control over the gaza strip.
13. in 1995 israel and jordan signed a peace agreement.
14. so now egypt and jordan are in peace with Israel but some of their teretories are in israeli control. the palestinians want these teretories and israel should give those.
15. some of the jews do not want to return teretories since they think they have right on that land from the bibel. and also that they won that land in war they did not started.
16. some of the palestinians think that they have right to the land like it was before the UN divided the country and think Israel shoul not exist.
the problem is that both sides are right and that is the reason it is the most complicated conflict in the world!!!

The UK and the UN created Israel. The jews would say no? The palestinians would say yes? And to worsen the fact that Israel was created in a conflict zone, the palestinian state projec twas never carried on, leading to Israeli abuse that went unpunished. The arab comunity used that as scapegoat for they hate, especially because it showed how their "race" had less political influence than the rich Jews.
Frankly, is everyone's fault

It's been going for hundreds of hundreds of years. Seriously, do some research on the subject before making basely accusations over what you see in the latest news headlines.
With that said, BOTH sides need to stop what they're doing.

Israel of course! They were given part of Palestine and the Palestinians who were living there were just forced out. Would you want to just sit back and do nothing?
