Technically the real thing people mean is, practise makes you closer to perfection, or practise makes you better. Sometimes people would say someone is perfect but could still improve.

Nobody is perfect cause when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden they disobeyed God and now all of us, their descendants, are no longer perfect. The only perfect human being there ever was, is Jesus, the Son of God.
The phrase means practicing makes you better. Nothing is perfect, but we can strive to be the best that we possibly can be.

practise makes it perfect for those who learn from their mistakes. Some people would make the same mistakes over and over again. Everybody can make mistakes but those who do not learn from their mistakes are stupid, that's why no matter how much practise they have, they still are not perfect !

IT's impossible to do enough practice to be "perfect" at something. (Perfect is a far way up there - if you know what I mean :)
But practicing makes you better and better. (The word perfect is probably used because two 'P' words together sounds good - and its catchy.)
Remember a more true saying, "Nobody's perfect".
:)
Have a great day :)

the expression relates to "perfection of a skill or task" rather than absolute overall perfection as a human being, i think, it would be hard to think of anyone as perfect because we all have different ideas on what a perfect person ought to be.
a person can perfect the art of painting a ship or some flowers, or a screaming face...but the person her / himself is usually only perfectly able to do a few things, and may fail at other tasks...thus rendering the human being, fallible, or imperfect. Au contraire...we are all perfect at being imperfect?

because if you practice something, you get better, hence the saying, "practice makes perfect". practicing a certain thing, such as a sport, will posibly make you perfect at the sport, not at being perfect as a person. that is the reason no one is perfect. well, that and the fact that not many people practice being perfect when it comes to life.

Because perfection is in the eye of the beholder...there are plenty of people out there who think they have reached a state of perfection, when infact they really do need to keep on trying!!!

It's practice, not practise. Substitute 'advise' and 'advice' in your head and you'll see what I mean. Practice makes perfect!
