why racial discrimination is wrong?
I DO believe it's wrong, of course. I agree with Martin Luther King that it is contrary to God's law, as he stated in his Letter from a Birmingham Jail.
I also believe the phrase "under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance, as well as the concept in the Declaration of Independence that all people are equal and have rights given by a higher authority than any government, serve to protect people's rights. To be sure, people THINKING they know what God wants has caused much misery, but people thinking there is no one to answer to at all except for themselves seems a recipe for mischief as well.
So I wanted to throw my question out there, since many people preface their questions on social issues with "without bringing religion into it . . . " I suppose one could say morals are different from religion, but people often say don't bring morals into politics either.
Thanks.

Phoenix, an atheistic Darwinist (which I am not) might find a way to disagree with you. Thousands of generations have passed since human ancestors left a common area - Africa. If discrete populations have "evolved" for over 100,000 years, who is to say what "mutations" have occurred in each population? That's why some people fear we will one day all be classified by our genetics. Look back and see who the adherents to eugenics were.

Theodore, interesting that you mentioned Hitler. He was a very ardent eugenics enthusiast!

Racial discrimination is wrong, but I find it curious that you asked posters to leave religion out when the basis for your statements are steeply ground in Judeo-Christian values and faith. Discrimination of any kind, based solely on a skin color, sex, disability, etc., is wrong. That said, there is a kind of reverse discrimination that has resulted in our hyper-politically-correct society. That of quotas and lowered standards in the name of diversity and affirmative action. Best person for the job, scholarship, etc. - should be the way of the land - it's not.

Having carefully studied Anthropology, history, and sociology, all at university level, I definitely know that all men are equal.
the saying does state, "under God", but I am not basing any argument on it.
If you note, due to man's inhumanity to man, in any capacity is the cause of all of the worlds problems.
When groups of people band together because they believe that they will be better off harming or disenfranchising other groups, they bring about horrible resentment, and seeking out vengeance, from the group discriminated against.
Take a look at NAZI Germany, and what happened to the world because of it.
The African American is becoming more powerful in the world, it is good that the term American is involved.
Remember the fall of Rome, it was not a super power that brought it down, the barbarians were responsible, the politically disenfranchised of the world.
Every great power in the world is the result of revolution. On a personal level, I cannot go on without adding that I am a Christian with strong beliefs.
I see prpphesy being fulfillled right before my very eyes.
Any observant person who has done an in depth study of the scriptures can see what I am talking about.
I do not want to turn anyone off, so I will end here, saying, "see for yourself".

Racial discrimination is wrong. Because every single person no matter what their color, race, religion, or income level etc.. Is a human being. And deserves to be treated as your equal.
If a person was born purple with green stripes he/she deserves to be treated with the same kindness and rights as any one else.
I believe what Martian Luther King Jr. Said and stood for just about says it all.
No one is any better than any one else. Setting aside God's love.
We are still all born equal and should be treated that way through out our lives. It does not happen. But it should. And hopefully one day it will be that way. And I hope against all odds that we will see it in our life time.

Religion has nothing to do with it anyway.
Racial discrimination is the assumption that one is inferior just because of their racial ancestry. As we are all humans and racial ancestry merely provides different physical characteristics, this assumption is false. As humans, we all have the capacity to be equal. The only inherent inequality is caused by mutations, disease, and other problems that arise within an individual. Thus, racial discrimination is wrong. It has no basis in fact.

Any Discrimination is wrong. However, discrimination has been around forever, and not bringing religion into it, The Bible promotes it saying the Jews are chosen people and supposedly the only ones allowed in heaven at that time. If the Bible were true, that would mean even God practices discrimination.

We are in fact a nation that was born out of blood, the blood of our revolution against the king. Not only did we hate the king, we hated the persecution of the Church which in fact was the Government.
Freedom of choice in Religion was the main reason we all at one point in History came to the USA. Religion has no place in Government, the question would be which religion would Government permote as "THE" religion. I support the Constitution and the seperation of Church and State. So do all in Government who take the oath of office.

it is solid which you are going to see that the two factors, even no count if it is puzzling. a minimum of you are able to properly known the evidence and motive at the back of the two area of the argument. there's a different distinction between small cells and living human beings. One, of path, is considered greater powerful to us - as people - than the different. the place that wonderful line gets drawn is the section absolutely everyone seems to be continually debating over. while it includes the question of whose existence must be valued greater, that of the lady or the fetus, i assume all i will say is this: a fetus can't omit or be ignored with the help of what it by no potential observed. In different words, the lady maximum possibly has acquaintances and relatives who love and care approximately her. human beings whose lives may be negatively impacted, whose hearts may be crushed if she have been to die. She has been a factor of the international for long sufficient that to permit her die for the sake of saving a fetus with incredibly constrained recommendations functionality who has by no potential made lots of an impact on absolutely everyone's existence (yet possibly the mum), seems so tragic and irrational to me. yet it is in basic terms my opinion. basic and easily, i've got not got self belief absolutely everyone has the acceptable to tell a woman that she can't have an abortion. genuinely absolutely everyone seems to be authorized to make their own options and characteristic their own perspectives on the subject. yet it is her physique in spite of everything. Sorry with reference to the size of this answer; it is in basic terms an exceptionally thrilling subject.

I think that if you look at it, why should one person be put above another? What makes them so special, that they are more important? No one deserves to be put down because their skin happens to be a different color. Where is the reasoning behind it? Without putting religion into it, I think I would still feel the same. It makes no sense to put one above another.
Thank you for the question!

Racial discrimination is wrong because the differences (the differences are superficial at best) between races is too small to be a basis for judgement.

Racial discrimination is wrong because it hurts society in general.
If someone is discriminated against then they have less of a chance to contribute to society, which in turn hurts society as a whole.
Anytime someone isn't allowed to contribute to society to their fullest extent it affects the society, and in many cases those that are discriminated against will turn against society and that will definitely hurt things.
